Adaptive Personal Training!

Exciting News from Wrk Inside Out!
As of April 17, 2025, Wrk Inside Out is officially offering personal training services to the special needs community!!!

I am thrilled to share that my services are expanding in a way that’s been on my heart for quite some time. Thanks to Strong Education, I’ve earned my certification as an Adaptive Personal Trainer and have been trained in the Adaptive Fitness Training Model.

Adaptive fitness is a specialized approach to personal training designed for individuals with temporary or permanent disabilities. It empowers clients to pursue their fitness goals through customized programs that meet their individual needs—something I’ve always prioritized at Wrk Inside Out.

Now, I get to expand that mission in a whole new way!

Adaptive Fitness training promotes inclusivity, independence, and a sense of accomplishment, no matter someone’s physical limitations.

Our programs aim to improve mobility and functional movement to support everyday tasks like walking, lifting, reaching, and transferring. We also focus on:

  • Flexibility

  • Core strength

  • Balance

  • Brain and sensory training

  • Muscle development and overall strength

These programs are designed to support individuals with a wide range of conditions, including:

  • Spinal cord injuries

  • Amputations

  • Cerebral palsy

  • Multiple sclerosis

  • Autism

  • Down syndrome

  • Stroke recovery

  • Mental health conditions

  • ...and more!

Adaptive training can include:

  • Adaptive equipment (I have some and will be adding more!)

  • Assistive devices (If you know someone who is training in the use of assistive devices—or would be open to allowing job shadowing—I’d love to connect!)

  • Exercise modifications to ensure safe, effective, and enjoyable workouts

Just like all of our personal training and nutrition programs, adaptive fitness is collaborative and personalized. We build each program based on what the client is ready, willing, and able to do, with their personal goals being the priority.

While outcomes vary from person to person, there are always medical, mental, and emotional benefits to physical activity and proper nutrition.

This is all still very new—but I’m also very excited.

Everyone deserves access to health, wellness, and the opportunity to move, feel, and live better. I cannot wait to step into this new chapter and serve our community in an even deeper way.

Be on the lookout for continued updates with new and upcoming offerings, training packages, and classes!

Excited to grow with you,

Jess
